Raneem Zaki Farsi, a Saudi art advisor, holds a BFA and DFA from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Farsi wrote the first literature on the development of the art market in the Kingdom (2010) as her thesis during her graduate studies where she gained an MA from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London.
With her knowledge and expertise in the Saudi art scene, and staying true to ‘the artist at heart,' Farsi engages in diverse local and international art-related initiatives. She expanded her advisory services in the past years working in Saudi to cover: artist development, collection management and acquisitions, as well as curatorial services. She has curated exhibitions locally, regionally and internationally, including some which were co-curated with current partner Aya Alireza.
Farsi and Alireza currently work independently as curators and advisers on Saudi art. With a close eye on the emerging Middle Eastern art market, Alireza and Farsi hope to use their experience to contribute to the development of a constructive framework for contemporary art in Saudi Arabia.
