Shamael Al Sharekh Women's issues activist

Shamael Al Sharikh is a Kuwaiti women's issues activist and a former board member of the Women Cultural Social Society, the oldest women's non-profit organization in the Gulf region. She was also a member of the Executive Office of the National Youth Project (, an initiative by the Amiri Diwan to organize a National Youth Conference that addresses the role of youth in the advancement of Kuwait’s future vision and its strategic and developmental goals. She has also worked on several political campaigns for candidates running for the National Assembly in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2016. Shamael holds a MSc in international politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, London) and a BA in international relations from Tufts University, USA.
